MARROW is the creation of Jaime Kay Jones and Chef Kyle Wnuk. Jaime seems to know what Tacoma is craving before Tacoma does and garnered many accolades when she successfully challenged establishment thinking by opening the Top of Tacoma Bar and Café in Tacoma’s rough and tumble Eastside neighborhood. At the same time, Kyle Wnuk, a culinary graduate from South Seattle Community College, was busy challenging palates and generated quite the local buzz with his fresh, local, and often uniquely creative offerings. When the two of them joined together, the only logical outcome was MARROW.
Marrow features two menus for our customers: the "Marrow" side focusing on protein based dishes incorporating often overlooked meats, prepared in a modern way; and the "Arrow" menu showcasing elevated vegetarian dining. Both of these menus change seasonally following MARROW’s commitment to using only the freshest local products.
MARROW has already received great reviews and judging by the nightly turnout is giving Tacoma something that it was lacking. What could be found in the trendier neighborhoods of San Francisco, Portland, or Chicago is now here in Tacoma: a simple outlook on decor lets the food shine, and the welcoming bar is a great place to share conversations with a friend or make new ones.
Our talented staff of mixologists has created a very interesting array of specialty cocktails to help pair with the food, or enjoyed on their own.
